Koju-en nursery is located about 20 minutes by foot from Kyoto Station and is home to some of the world's best shohin bonsai.  The nursery is owned and operated by Tomohiro Masumi and his father, who happens to be one of the leading men in the All-Japan Shohin Association.  Tomohiro speaks fluent English and operates the company website, which is availabe in both Japanese and English (see links above).  Once a month, Koju-en offers a shohin bonsai class to students, both young and old, to further promote the art of bonsai in the community.  At the end of a full year of study, students are presented with a shohin bonsai of their own.  For those interested in Shohin Bonsai, Koju-en in Kyoto is a necessary stop while in Japan.
